Through this LTG project, educators will deliver innovative professional training to participating teachers and librarians; create a K-8 standards-based digital literacy curriculum to enhance STEAM education: provide extended learning day opportunities for students to engage in coding activities; and develop a cadre of instructional leaders to serve as mentors and resources to other teachers and librarians.
The goals of the Oneida Road to Code Project are to:
- Expose students to coding at an early age and throughout their school career to encourage interests in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) and prepare them for the modern workforce and
- Increase district capacity/systems for effective teaching and the use of technology to ultimately impact student performance and sustain positive project outcomes beyond the grant period.
