ARP ESSER Programmatic Technical Assistance and Support

Student-Centered Technical Assistance and Support (SCTAS) Team

The Office of Student Support Services Student-Centered Technical Assistance and Support (SCTAS) Team is available to offer technical assistance (TA) to public school districts with a focus on those districts receiving American Rescue Plan (ARP) ¶¶Òõapp Reserve funds. SCTAS will highlight the use of best practices and evidence-based interventions while providing TA and support for the following :

  • Summer Learning and Enrichment
  • Comprehensive Afterschool Programming
  • Integrated Social Emotional Learning
  • Community Schools

The SCTAS Team is available to provide guidance, in-person or remote visits, and consultations on relevant implementation issues and challenges. SCTAS has developed assessment checklists and tools for self-use to identify the best practices that currently support your program development and implementation plan.

In addition, the SCTAS Team is available to assist with integrating learning readiness, such as Social Emotional Learning and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, into the development of a strong instructional foundation tier of a multi-tiered system of learning and supports that create culturally responsive, welcoming school climates. The Team is also able to provide guidance relative to evidenced-based tier two intervention approaches such as trauma responsive practices, and restorative practices.

The SCTAS Team will be hosting webinars designed to provide TA and guidance to LEAs. For upcoming webinars, check Announcements and Updates.

TA provided by the SCTAS Team is focused on assisting school districts in assessing the current best practices that support their programs and activities, reviewing their current goals, and setting goals for future development. This is an important and timely opportunity to leverage the ARP ¶¶Òõapp Reserve Funds to develop and implement structures that assist staff and all students as we continue to respond to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and create healthy systems for recovery.

Announcements and Updates

  • Summer Toolkit: This toolkit was developed by the SCTAS team to provide support for summer learning and enrichment programs through an initial overview, tools, flow charts, and resources. The purpose of this toolkit is to help establish a foundation of support that will facilitate effective communication between the SCTAS Team and schools during requested technical assistance and support.
  • Ìý2023: Summer school provided by school districts, Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) or nonpublic schools is an opportunity for students to take courses for enrichment, acceleration, and make up course work from the regular school year.
